Fotopedia Women of the World – neue Edition ‘International Women’s Day’ erschienen

Gestern war der Weltfrauentag, der auf den 8. März 1908 zurückgeht, an dem New Yorker Arbeiterinnen für bessere Lebens- und Arbeitsbedingungen kämpften – und mit dem Leben bezahlten. Der erste Internationale Frauentag fand am 19. März 1911, initiiert durch Clara Zetkin, unter Teilnahme von Millionen von Frauen in den USA, Deutschland, Österreich, Dänemark und der Schweiz, statt.

Anlässlich dieses Tages ist in der App Fotopedia Women of the World eine neue Edition zum ‘International Women’s Day’ erschienen.

International Women’s Day is marked on March 8 every year. In different regions the focus of the celebrations ranges from general celebration of respect, appreciation and love towards women to a celebration for women’s economic, political and social achievements. [...] In other regions, however, the original political and human rights theme designated by the United Nations runs strong, and political and social awareness of the struggles of women worldwide are brought out and examined in a hopeful manner.
